Office of Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer
The Office of the Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer provides leadership, guidance, direction, and oversight to the university's complex financial and business functions. The Vice President is responsible for the identification of significant issues affecting the financial health of the university and provides analysis and formulation of strategies to deal with these issues. Responsibilities include oversight and management of six administrative units, including the functional areas of accounting, investments, debt and cash management, risk management and insurance, payroll, post award research contract and grant administration, travel, receivables, and loan management.
Financial Planning and Analysis responsible for leading the financial forecasting for operational and capital structures, analysis and planning processes as well as developing models and forecasts to ensure MSU’s long-term financial sustainability. Planning and analysis are critical functions in support of the mission of an R1 research institution and play a key role in developing a long-term financial model that aligns resources with our strategic priorities.
