MSU Finance, along with MSU Human Resources and TIAA are proud to have hosted Doyin Richards for a keynote address and workshops for staff and senior leaders the first week of October, 2023. Richards is a nationally acclaimed anti-racism facilitator, public speaker, and best-selling author who serves as a consultant for anti-racism and mental health for major corporations across the country.
Richards’ visit reinforced MSU’s DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) mission, but his workshops taught participants to identify the most effective actions to take as an ally in-training to BIPOC. “The impact of a speaker like Doyin is far-reaching,” said Lynn Lee, budget and human resources officer for MSU Finance. “By sharing his knowledge and experiences with our staff, Richards made a positive impact on our employees both personally and professionally. Although I was aware that racism continues to be a major issue in our country, attending one of Doyin’s workshops and spending time with him gave me a lot more understanding of the impact racism has on people of color. His visit was a great benefit for our employees.”
Richards delivered his keynote address at MSU named: Real Talk About Race & Mental Health, where he addressed attendees about the intersection of racism and mental health within the workplace.
