July 10, 2024
Lane Adams has been selected to serve as the Interim Director of Treasury and Financial Management. Reporting directly to Rebecca Barber, Lane will oversee the day-to-day operations of treasury services for the institution.
Lane's experience as the senior manager of Treasury Services, where she played a significant role in managing the University's treasury activities, will ensure continuity and aid in a smooth transition during this period. Now, with increased responsibilities, she will act as the primary liaison between MSU and its banking partners, monitor operating cash flows and implement various cash management initiatives and best practices. Additionally, she will oversee the administration of endowments for the University, including annual spending policy analysis and reviewing and interpreting endowment agreements. She will also continue to oversee the debt management activities of the University, ensuring compliance with debt agreements and issuing new debt.
Lane joined the Treasury and Financial Management office in March 2009. Prior to coming to Michigan State, she worked in several corporate finance positions at a commercial real estate firm, a professional employer organization, and a global automotive parts manufacturer.
Lane holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Walsh College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2002. She became a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) in 2013.
